Refund policy

Version 2.5. Last updated: September 2, 2026.

This policy governs all purchases effected through AlvarCreations, comprising Alvar Suite and any other product or service supplied by us, and is incorporated into and forms an integral part of our Terms of Service. It leaves every right that mandatory consumer law gives you fully intact, and nothing here limits those rights. If something is not working as it should, rather than simply not being what you wanted, please contact us first: most such cases turn out to be quickly fixable, and a working product is usually the better outcome for everyone.

Summary

One-time purchases are delivered instantly and may be withdrawn within 14 days of purchase for a full refund; withdrawing ends the licence and your access to the content.
Subscriptions retain the full 14-day withdrawal right. On withdrawal within that period you pay a proportionate amount for what the subscription has already delivered to you, and the balance is refunded.
AI credits may be withdrawn from within 14 days of purchase, with a refund of the unspent balance. Spent credits have been consumed. Credits you buy stay available for as long as your account is in use, and an unspent balance stays refundable after those 14 days wherever the reason for the refund is something we have done.
Faults are governed separately. Where the Service is defective, your statutory remedies apply in full and this policy does not restrict them.

When a purchase is refunded, the licence and any access it granted end on the same date, and the content and features it unlocked should no longer be used (clause 7.4 of the Terms of Service). Works you have already completed remain yours. We honour every genuine refund right described below; we reserve the right to decline a refund, or to limit future purchases, only where a pattern of requests indicates misuse of these rights rather than a genuine change of mind or fault.

One-time purchases

A one-time purchase is digital content supplied in full at the moment it is unlocked on your account. It is delivered immediately so that you can begin using it at once.

You retain the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal. To withdraw, notify us within 14 days of the purchase (see Exercise of the right of withdrawal below); we then refund the price in full to your original payment method. On withdrawal your licence ends and you must cease using, and delete your copies of, the content and features it unlocked. Withdrawal addresses a change of mind and is separate from a fault, which is governed by Non-conformity and statutory remedies below.

Subscriptions (all subscription plans)

A subscription is a service supplied over time. The 14-day right of withdrawal is therefore retained in full.

Within 14 days of subscribing: notify us that you withdraw. We refund the sum paid less a proportionate amount for what the subscription has already delivered, in accordance with distansavtalslagen 2 kap. 15 §. A subscription delivers two things: access over time, and an allowance of AI credits included with the period. The proportionate amount is therefore the larger of two fractions of the price: the days elapsed as a share of the billing period, and the included credits you have used as a share of that allowance. Where you have used none of the included credits it is simply the days elapsed. Neither fraction can exceed the whole, so the deduction never exceeds the sum you paid and withdrawing never leaves you owing us money.
After 14 days: you may cancel at any time from your account. The subscription then runs to the end of the period already paid for and does not renew. Partial periods are not refunded after the withdrawal period has expired, so cancellation should be made before the renewal date.
Adverse modification: where we modify the Service in a manner that materially and adversely affects what your subscription includes, you may terminate it and receive a refund of the unused portion of the current period. The same applies where you decline a material amendment to the Terms of Service.

AI credits

Credits are a prepayment for AI processing, consumed as the AI features are used.

Within 14 days of a purchase: you may withdraw and receive a refund of the unspent balance. Credits already spent have paid for processing that has been performed at your request and cannot be refunded.
After 14 days: a purchase of credits is not refundable on a change of mind. Credits you buy do not expire through the passage of time, so an unspent balance simply waits for you however long you leave it; where an account goes wholly unused for thirty-six consecutive months the balance lapses, and we give you notice beforehand so that you can use it (clause 6.3 of the Terms of Service). An unspent balance does remain refundable in money, at the price you paid for those credits, wherever the reason for the refund is something we have done rather than a change of mind on your part. That includes: we raise the credit rate for a feature so that your existing balance materially buys less (clause 6.4 of the Terms of Service); we change the Service in a way that adversely affects something you paid for (clause 10.2); we discontinue the Service altogether (clause 10.5); you decline an amendment to the Terms that adversely affects you (clause 14.3); or we terminate your account for an established breach (clause 11.5).
Credits included with a subscription come with the plan rather than being bought separately, so they have no refundable money value of their own. They are governed by the subscription terms above and by clause 6 of the Terms of Service.

Non-conformity and statutory remedies

Withdrawing is about changing your mind. A fault is a separate matter with its own protections, and your rights under the Swedish Consumer Sales Act (konsumentköplagen, 2022:260) apply in full. Where the Service does not match what was agreed, you are entitled to have that put right; and if it is not put right within a reasonable time, to a reduction in the price or to cancel the purchase and be refunded.

To use those remedies, contact us and tell us what is wrong and which version of After Effects you are running. Alvar Suite runs on After Effects 2022 or newer, and a few premium effects build on third-party plugins, which are listed on the download page. If we did not make a requirement clear before you bought, that is on us, not on you.

Exercise of the right of withdrawal

To withdraw, email info@alvarcreations.com within the 14 days and say clearly that you are withdrawing, giving the email address you bought with and roughly when. There is no form to fill in. If it helps, you are welcome to use this wording:

To AlvarCreations, info@alvarcreations.com: I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for [describe the purchase], ordered on [date], under the email address [email]. [Name, date]

The standard withdrawal form published by the Swedish Consumer Agency (Konsumentverket) may also be used. We acknowledge receipt without undue delay and refund to the original payment method within 14 days of receiving your notice, as required by law.

Complaints and alternative dispute resolution

For anything this policy does not cover, contact us and we will do our best to sort it out directly. If a dispute cannot be settled between us, a consumer may refer it to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, ARN, Box 174, 101 23 Stockholm, arn.se). We take part in that procedure and consider the Board's recommendations carefully and in good faith; those recommendations are advisory rather than binding on either party.
